Privacy Policy — SALO Tools WooCommerce Exporter

In short: the extension reads WooCommerce catalogues inside your browser and writes them to a file on your machine. Product data is never uploaded to us. We receive your email and password once at sign-in, and a store domain plus product count when a scrape is billed.

What we collect

1. Account credentials — at sign-in only

When you sign in, your email address and password are sent once over HTTPS to salotools.com/api/login. In return we issue an access token, stored locally in your browser via the extension storage API.

Your password is not stored by the extension. Only the token is kept. It expires after 90 days and is revoked immediately when you sign out.

2. Billing metadata — when a scrape is charged

Because scrapes consume credits from your SALO Tools account, the following is sent to our API when you approve a scrape:

The store's domain, for example example-store.com
The number of products found
Your access token

This is the minimum needed to charge the right number of credits and show the scrape in your account history.

3. What we never collect

We do not receive, transmit or store:

Scraped product data — names, prices, SKUs, descriptions, images, stock levels. All of it is processed in your browser's memory and written directly to a file you choose.
Browsing history — the extension has no persistent content script and does not observe the pages you visit.
Page content from sites you visit — code runs on a page only after you click the extension icon, and only on that tab.
Analytics, tracking pixels, advertising identifiers, or fingerprinting of any kind.

Why each permission is needed

Permission	Purpose
`activeTab`	Lets the extension read the page only on the tab you are viewing, and only after you click the extension icon. This is how the store is detected and the catalogue read. Access ends when you navigate away.
`scripting`	Injects the detection and reading code into that tab on demand.
`storage`	Stores your access token and account details locally so you are not asked to sign in every time.
`downloads`	Saves the exported CSV, JSON or TSV file to your computer.
`salotools.com`	Lets the extension reach the SALO Tools API for sign-in and credit billing. This is the only domain the extension contacts.

The extension deliberately does not request broad host permissions and has no background content script. It cannot read any site until you explicitly open it there.

We do not sell, rent or share any of this with third parties. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to train models.

Your control

Sign out from the extension footer — this revokes the token on our servers and clears it locally.
Uninstalling removes all locally stored data immediately.
Delete your account or request a copy of your data by emailing us.
Scrape history can be reviewed from your SALO Tools dashboard.

Children

SALO Tools is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be published on this page and reflected in the extension's store listings before taking effect.
